This 10-day trekking expedition takes you through the biodiverse Virachey National Park in northeastern Cambodia, an area known as one of Asia’s last great wildernesses. You’ll trek with expert rangers and indigenous Kavet guides, who will teach you jungle survival skills. The journey includes camping by a waterfall and on a mountain’s edge. Highlights of the tour are a night safari to spot nocturnal wildlife and reaching the summit of Jak Yus Mountain, which offers a panoramic view stretching across Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam. The adventure concludes with a bamboo raft ride down a river before returning to Banlung.
Begin your adventure with a full-day drive (7–8 hrs) from Phnom Penh to Banlung, the capital of Ratanakiri. The road takes you deep into Cambodia’s northeast, where landscapes shift from flat plains to rolling forested hills. Upon arrival, check in and relax before the trekking journey begins.

The day begins in Banlung with an 8:30 AM departure. You’ll travel about an hour to Veun Sai District, then take a boat or ferry to a remote Kavet tribal village. The trek involves a river crossing where your belongings will be placed in waterproof bags and floated across while you swim. The destination is a waterfall campsite where you will set up hammocks and sleep under the stars.
